11.06.03 Faulkner, William, Intruder in the Dust, published in 1948.
In this novel, Intruder in the Dust, William Faulkner recounts the adventures of an old lady and two boys, one black and one white, as they seek to prove the innocence of a proud and ungrateful black man accused of murder.
There is a 1949 movie version (also a society recommendation) which is perhaps the most faithful of all Faulkner material in cinema.
