07.03.03 Stonewall Jackson, two biographies are recommended: Life and Campaigns of Lieut.-Gen. Thomas J. Jackson, by Robert Louis Dabney, published in 1865, and Stonewall Jackson: The Man, The Soldier, The Legend, by James I. Robertson, Jr., published in 1997.

Dabney was a brilliant theologian who knew Jackson well and thought as he did.  Among other virtues, Dabney’s work makes clear why Jackson and Virginia fought against the Northern invaders.

See a biography of Robert Louis Dabney by Thomas Cary Johnson at 09.09.01.

There is a 1983 reprint by Sprinkle Publications.
