02.06.15 Lunt, George, Origins of the Late War: Traced from the Beginning of the Constitution to the Revolt of the Southern States, published 1866.

Notes Concerning the Author

George Lunt  (1803—1885)  was a prominent Massachusetts  lawyer, legislator, newspaper editor, and author.

Our Review

Amazingly,  Lunt, by no means a secessionist, published immediately after the War between the States  a  detailed   political history of the United States  to show that the war had been caused by persistent Northern aggression  and that the South had been justified in secession.
